The Sacrament is one of the ordinances of the Gospel that clearly testifies of the atonement. We partake of the bread to remember that He gave his body (physical life) for us. We drink of the water to remember that He gave his blood (spiritual life) for us. I John 1:7 really explains much about the atonement: “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” By walking in the light, we must be obedient and keep the commandments and the covenants that we have made with God. As we do, the blood of Jesus Christ and His atonement cleanse us from all sin.
