Jesus Christ, Ascension of
The ascension of Jesus Christ into heaven is documented in many scriptures both in the Bible and in the modern day scriptures—the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. In Acts 1:10-11 we read: “And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” Also in Luke 24:51, we read: “And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.” We know that the Savior ascended into Heaven and will return in like manner.

Jesus Christ Appearance, Postmortal
There are many scriptures that talk of appearances of Jesus Christ after his death and resurrection. In Mark 16:9, it states that “he appeared first to Mary.” He then came numerous times to be with the Twelve Apostles. In Acts 1:3 it states that He was seen of the Apostles for forty days. He must have had many things to teach them. In 1 Corinthians 15:6, it states that he was seen of 500 brethren at once. What a meeting that must have been! Also, in Doctrine and Covenants 93:1 there is another amazing promise: “Verily, thus saith the Lord: It shall come to pass that every soul who forsaketh his sins and cometh unto me, and calleth on my name, and obeyeth my voice, and keepeth my commandments, shall see my face and know that I am;” In the Sermon on the Mount, the Savior made this same promise in Matthew 5:8: “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” In Revelations 3:20, the promise is again made: “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”

Jesus Christ, Appearances, Antemortal
Jesus Christ, who is also Jehovah of the Old Testament, appeared to many of the prophets before His coming in the flesh in the meridian of time. In Genesis 32:7, we read: “And the Lord appeared unto Abram…” We know that the Lord is Jehovah and Jehovah is Jesus Christ. Our Savior lived and appeared to many before He came to earth. In the Book of Mormon in Ether 3:20: we read: “Wherefore, having this perfect knowledge of God, he could not be kept from within the veil; there he saw Jesus; and he did minister unto him.” The brother of Jared saw Jesus Christ thousands of years before his coming. The Savior appeared to many prophets before his coming in the meridian of time.

Jesus Christ, Antemortal Existence of
The fact that Jesus Christ lived before the world began is well documented, both in the Bible and in modern day scriptures. In John 1:1, 14, it is very clear that the Word was in the beginning with the Father and that the Word is Jesus Christ. In Ether 3:16 in the Book of Mormon, it is also very clear that the Brother of Jared saw the Savior thousands of years before the Savior was born in the flesh.

Jesus Christ Advocate
There are many scriptures that state that Jesus Christ is our advocate. The following scripture is excellent and summarizes the topic well. “Lift up your hearts and be aglad, for I am in your bmidst, and am your cadvocate with the Father; and it is his good will to give you the dkingdom.” (D&C29:45) Another great scripture is “aAnd if any man sin, we have an badvocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2 And he is the apropitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole bworld.” Without Him as our advocate, we would not be able to return and live in His and Heavenly Father’s presence.

Jesus Christ is Jehovah of the Old Testament
The concept that Jesus Christ is the Jehovah of the Old Testament is one that is not understood by those of most modern Christian Churches. There are a significant number of scriptures in the Old Testament and New Testament that support this doctrine. A few of the scriptures that make it very clear that Jesus Christ is the God of the Old Testament are: Isaiah 41:4: “I the Lord, the first, and with the last; I am he.” The Savior in Revelations states clearly that he is “the first and the last.” Isaiah 43:11: “I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour.” Jehovah is saving that He is the only Savior. Two other scriptures, one from the Old Testament and one from the New Testament also make it clear that Jesus Christ is the Jehovah of the Old Testament. The first scripture, Exodus 3:14, takes place on Mount Sinai as the Lord is talking with Moses. Moses asks Jehovah, what is your name? The Lord responds: “And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.” In the New Testament scripture, Jesus is talking with the Jews and He states in John 8:58 that “Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.” The Jews took up stones, since he was saying that he was Jehovah.
